Plastic bag recovery fee increased to 60 kuruş
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has determined the recovery participation fee amounts applicable for 2024. Accordingly, the recovery participation fee for plastic shopping bags, which are sold to consumers at markets for 25 kuruş, has been increased to 60 kuruş.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has determined the recovery participation fee amounts that will be valid in 2024.
According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette, the recovery participation fee for plastic shopping bags sold to customers at markets for 25 kuruş has been increased to 60 kuruş. However, the consumer sales price of 25 kuruş for shopping bags remains unchanged.
Additionally, in the new year, a recovery participation fee of 6 kuruş will be applied to 0.33-liter beverage packaging, 24 kuruş to beverage packaging of 1.5 liters and above, and 18 kuruş to canned beverage packaging.
A recovery contribution fee of 19 lira will also be collected for products such as passenger vehicle tires and zinc-carbon batteries. These regulations aim to encourage environmentally friendly practices and contribute to the waste recycling process.
