An event held by Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) students at Gülhane Park was suddenly blockaded by police. Following the event, police detained 43 people.

The statement made by TİP is as follows:

"Our youth, who gathered at Gülhane Park upon the call of TİP Students and with the participation of our Chairman Erkan Baş, were surrounded by a blockade without any justification provided.

As of now, 43 of our youth have been unlawfully detained.

The dignity of our youth, who are the bright future of this country, cannot be trampled upon, and their tomorrows cannot be darkened!

To raise our voices against this lawlessness, we call on all lawyers to Vatan Police Headquarters and all our friends to the front of our TİP Istanbul Provincial Building. This lawlessness will not go unanswered! You are the name of fear: Tremble before the youth who do not stay silent and do not take a step back! We will get all our friends back!"
