Police injure three citizens while intervening with a suspect: Statement from the Istanbul Police Department
The Istanbul Police Department announced that the necessary investigation will be initiated after the discharge of the suspect, who was shot in the ankle and neutralized by police intervention while chasing his adversary with a machete during a fight in Beşiktaş.

In a statement issued by the Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch, it was stated: "In the investigations conducted regarding the 'Intentional Endangerment of General Security,' 'Violation of Law No. 6136,' and 'Intentional Injury' incident that occurred in front of the Beşiktaş Square Ferry Terminal, it was determined that individuals identified as F.D. (23) and G.U. (32), who were known to have a prior feud, encountered each other in front of the aforementioned terminal, leading to an argument that quickly escalated into a fight.
During the fight, it was determined that the suspect identified as F.D. began chasing the other individual with a cutting tool known as a machete.
Police teams on duty in the area intervened in the incident, and when the suspect attempted to attack the responding police officers, controlled fire was opened to neutralize the individual.
The suspect was neutralized and apprehended after being shot in the left ankle.
During the intervention, three citizens passing through the area were slightly injured due to ricocheting bullets; the injured individuals were transported to the hospital and taken under treatment.
Regarding the matter, the necessary investigation procedures will be initiated against the apprehended suspect, who has been taken to the hospital for treatment, once he is discharged," the statement said.
