Police intervention at Pride March in Eskişehir: 10 people detained

Police intervened against those who gathered to hold a Pride March in Eskişehir, detaining 10 people.

A group that communicated via social media gathered in front of the Ulus Monument in Hoşnudiye Neighborhood.

Provincial Security Directorate teams took extensive security measures around the group, who were unfurling LGBT flags and chanting slogans.

Police warned the group to disperse. Riot police intervened against the group, who wanted to continue chanting slogans and marching despite the warnings.

The 10 people who wanted to hold an unauthorized demonstration were detained by police teams under the "Law No. 2911".

The 10 individuals were taken to the Eskişehir Security Directorate for processing after undergoing health checks at Yunus Emre State Hospital.
