Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek suffered an electric shock following an accident at his home on June 6 and was hospitalized with injuries. Yeni Akit reported Zeyrek's hospitalization with the headline 'Mayor struck'.
While Zeyrek's loss of his 3-day struggle for life in intensive care after being hospitalized left his loved ones in mourning, Akit once again used the term 'croaked' for Zeyrek.
On the day of Zeyrek's funeral, young people wanted to hold a protest in front of Akit. The youth, who wanted to gather in front of the Akit building while wearing photos of Ferdi Zeyrek on their lapels, were blocked by the police.
