Police intervention in DEM's 'Rojava' march
Police teams intervened against a crowd gathered in Saraçhane to support Rojava, and DEM Party Istanbul Provincial Co-Chair Vedat Çınar Altan, one of the leaders of the demonstration, was detained.

In Istanbul, members of the DEM Party, the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), and the Democratic Institutions Platform, who gathered to protest the attacks carried out in Rojava by HTS and forces affiliated with the interim administration in Syria, attempted to hold a march in Saraçhane. The group, which gathered at Aksaray Square, began moving toward Saraçhane while chanting slogans.
Police forces blocked the demonstrators with barricades and stopped the march. Pepper spray was used against the crowd, which refused to disperse. During the incident, the slogan "Rojava will be a grave for ISIS" was frequently heard at the protest.
It was reported that during the intervention, DEM Party Istanbul Provincial Co-Chair Vedat Çınar Altan was detained, and a large number of demonstrators were removed from the area.
