Police officer dies after his dropped service weapon discharges
In the Mamak district, a police officer has died after his weapon fell to the floor and discharged.

Police officer Hamit Bıçak, who lived in the Altıağaç neighborhood of Ankara's Mamak district, dropped his weapon while attempting to retrieve it from a wardrobe in his home. The bullet struck Bıçak in the abdomen after the dropped weapon discharged.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
Upon his wife, who was at home at the time, reporting the situation, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Despite the interventions performed by medical teams at the scene, Hamit Bıçak could not be saved.
Bıçak's body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue following the prosecutor's examination.
