Police officer dies by suicide at Istanbul Airport

Police officer Ilgın Ceylan, who served at the Istanbul Airport Branch Directorate, died by suicide with his service weapon while on duty this morning.

Following the incident, emergency medical teams were dispatched to Istanbul Airport. Ceylan, who received initial intervention at the scene, was immediately taken to the hospital; however, he could not be saved despite all medical efforts.

According to AirlineHaber, Ceylan, who worked as a passport police officer at Istanbul Airport, was responsible for passenger entry-exit procedures and security checks. 

An investigation has been launched into the death of police officer Ilgın Ceylan.
