Police officer killed in accident in Eyüpsultan

Police officer Emirhan Aramış, who was on a motorcycle, collided with a moving car while on duty in Eyüpsultan and could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken.

The incident occurred yesterday around 21:45 on Silahtarağa Street in the Sakarya neighborhood. According to reports, a collision occurred between a moving car and a police officer serving in the Preventive Services Branch Directorate. Police officer Emirhan Aramış was seriously injured in the crash between the car and the motorcycle.

While the other police officer involved in the accident sustained minor injuries, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The injured officers were taken to Bezmialem Vakıf University Hospital following initial intervention.

Police officer Aramış, who was critically injured in the accident, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital and was martyred.

FUNERAL CEREMONY TO BE HELD FOR MARTYR ARAMIŞ

It was learned that the funeral of the martyred police officer will be held today at 11:30 at the Istanbul Police Department Vatan Campus, after which he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Balıkesir.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM ALİ YERLİKAYA

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared a message of condolence for the martyred police officer Emirhan Aramış.

Making a statement on his X account, Yerlikaya said, "Our police officer Emirhan Aramış and our police officer Hasan Eker, from our motorcycle police team serving in the Istanbul Preventive Services Branch Directorate, were injured in a traffic accident while on duty.

Our heroic son Emirhan Aramış was martyred at the hospital where he was taken.

I wish God's mercy upon our martyr; I extend my condolences to his family, our heroic Police Organization, and our Nation. May the place of our martyr be high.

I also wish a speedy recovery to our heroic son Hasan Eker, who was injured in this tragic accident," he stated.
