The police statement of Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who was detained in connection with the armed attack in Ümraniye, Istanbul, that resulted in the death of footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, has been revealed. The suspect claimed that the gun discharged unintentionally during a scuffle.

In an incident that took place in the Ümraniye district of Istanbul, footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı lost his life as a result of an armed attack.
The police statement of Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, the son of businessman Bilal Kadayıfçıoğlu, who was detained as part of the investigation, has been obtained.
"MY MONTHLY INCOME IS 600 THOUSAND LIRA"
In his statement, the suspect indicated that he went to the studio with Aleyna Tutuş on the day of the incident. He stated that they became uneasy when they saw the people in the BMW-branded vehicle parked on the street.
In his statement to the police, Kadayıfçıoğlu declared his monthly income as 600 thousand lira.
"THESE ARE MY EX-GIRLFRIEND'S FRIENDS"
According to the suspect's account, it was Aleyna Tutuş who first noticed the people in the vehicle. Stating that Tutuş said the people in the vehicle might be connected to his ex-girlfriend, Kadayıfçıoğlu noted that he wanted to get out of the vehicle to talk to them for this reason.
"I KNOCKED ON THE WINDOW, HE OPENED THE DOOR AND PUSHED ME"
Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that he went to the parked vehicle and knocked on the window. According to his statement, the person in the vehicle opened the door forcefully and pushed him.
The suspect, stating that he hit the door during the scuffle, said he saw the person inside the vehicle take a shiny metal object from the dashboard area, and that he thought it could be a gun or a knife.
"THE GUN WENT OFF SUDDENLY"
The suspect stated that he was carrying a Glock-branded pistol with a carry permit in his left hand. He explained that there was a move towards him, he raised his hand by reflex, and a struggle ensued during this time.
In his statement, Kadayıfçıoğlu said, "I definitely did not fire consciously. I went into shock when the gun went off."
Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that he did not know Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who lost his life in the incident, beforehand. He stated that there was no hostility or debt-credit issue between them.
He said he had only heard the name Vahap Canbay on social media.
The suspect explained that he and Aleyna Tutuş met about 2-3 months ago and started seeing each other for a while. He said that Tutuş stayed at his house the night before the incident and that he gave her his BMW vehicle in the morning hours.
He stated that they went to the studio together in the evening to pick up Tutuş's belongings and her dog.
"I LEFT IN A PANIC"
Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that he left the scene in a Vito-branded vehicle after the gun went off. He said that Hüseyin Can Avcı was driving his own Mercedes vehicle.
He stated that he first tried to reach his father due to shock, but could not reach him because his father was abroad. He then stated that he went to his cousin Metin Kadayıfçıoğlu.
THE GUN TURNED OUT TO BE HIS
The suspect admitted that the Glock-branded pistol used in the incident belonged to him and that it had a carry permit. He said that the gun found in the vehicle was the pistol used in the incident.
However, he argued that the second pistol and the cartridges seized at another address did not belong to him.
DEFENSE FROM HIS LAWYER
According to information provided by ATV reporter Mustafa Kadir Mercan, Kadayıfçıoğlu's lawyer also claimed in the police statement that his client acted with the intention of calming the parties down.
