Police vehicle crashes into barrier on TEM highway

Two traffic police officers were injured in an accident that occurred when a police vehicle crashed into a barrier on the Kocaeli section of the TEM highway.

The accident occurred on the Ankara-bound direction of the TEM highway near the Dilovası ramp. According to the information obtained, the police vehicle went out of control after the driver lost steering control and crashed into the barrier.

Two traffic police officers, injured by the force of the impact, were trapped in the vehicle. Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The two police officers were extracted from the vehicle by fire crews. After receiving initial medical intervention at the scene, the officers were transported to Gebze Fatih State Hospital and Darıca Farabi Training and Research Hospital.

Meanwhile, Kocaeli Provincial Police Chief Faruk Karaduman and Gebze District Police Chief Adil Uğur Bilgili arrived at Gebze Fatih State Hospital to receive information about the health status of the injured officers.

An investigation into the accident has been launched.

Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz stated on his social media account, "I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our police officers who were injured as a result of the accident involving our Police Department's vehicle.

Thankfully, they are in good health. Our Provincial Health Director and our physicians are monitoring their treatment," he said.
