Pope Leo XIV, the spiritual leader of the Catholic world, carried out a busy schedule in Istanbul on the third day of his first official visit to Turkey.

Vatican Head of State Pope Leo XIV attended a holy mass for approximately 4,000 people at the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul on the third day of his visit to Turkey.

Pope Leo began his day in Istanbul with a private meeting with bishops. His morning program started with a visit to the Blue Mosque, followed by a trip to the Mor Efrem Syriac Orthodox Church in Yeşilköy. There, the Pope met with church officials and representatives of Christian communities.

The Pope's next stop was the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Pope Leo met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and the two religious leaders issued a joint statement at the conclusion of the meeting.

Pope Leo later presided over the mass at the Volkswagen Arena, which was attended by thousands of people.

On the final day of his visit, the Pope is scheduled to hold a private meeting with the family of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi.
