Following the news of the death of DEM Party Istanbul MP and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Sırrı Süreyya Önder, 'yellow bag' posts were shared on the social media account of the Zafer Party Istanbul Youth Branch.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that an investigation has been launched into the Zafer Party Istanbul Youth Branch's posts on charges of 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting'.

Tunç stated the following in his post on his X account:

"An ex officio investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the posts made by the Zafer Party Istanbul Youth Branch's social media account, under the charge of 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting'."
