Presidency of Religious Affairs initiates legal proceedings regarding 'Huriye Martı' reports
In a statement issued by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, it was stated, "Necessary legal proceedings have been initiated regarding the false reports made in a manner completely contrary to the message of the program and fueling social discrimination."

The Presidency of Religious Affairs has announced that it has initiated necessary legal proceedings following the distortion of statements made by Vice President of Religious Affairs Huriye Martı while explaining the name of Allah, "al-Shakur," during a program she attended on Diyanet TV, by taking them out of context. The statement from the Diyanet included the following:
"In some visual and print media outlets and social media channels, reports and posts have appeared claiming that Vice President of Religious Affairs Huriye Martı made a statement to the effect that 'If the poor envy the rich, do not show gratitude, and are ungrateful, they can never be happy in this world,' and these allegations do not reflect the truth in any way.
In the 23rd episode of Diyanet TV's program titled 'From Esma to Human,' the name of Allah, 'al-Shakur,' was explained with Martı, who was a guest, and topics such as humans possessing the morality of gratitude, knowing the value of the blessings they have under all circumstances, and not being ungrateful or envious were discussed.
Throughout the program, the words 'rich' and 'poor' were not used even once, and it was explained that praise, gratitude, and thanking are Islamic virtues that suit every person, without making any social distinction. Necessary legal proceedings have been initiated regarding the false reports made in a manner completely contrary to the message of the program and fueling social discrimination."
