President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and YAŞ members visit Anıtkabir

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, along with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Commander of the Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, and Commander of the Air Forces General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, walked along the Lion Road to the area where the mausoleum is located.

After President Erdoğan placed a wreath adorned with the crescent and star motif at the mausoleum, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was played.

The delegation, led by President Erdoğan, took a photograph in front of the stairs leading to the mausoleum before moving to the National Pact Tower.

'WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A SOURCE OF TRUST FOR OUR FRIENDS'

Signing the Anıtkabir Special Book, President Erdoğan wrote the following:

“Dear Atatürk, as members of the Supreme Military Council, we are in your presence once again today. We commemorate you and our heroic martyrs with mercy, and we wish that our council's 2024 meeting will be auspicious for our country, our nation, and our Turkish Armed Forces. In this critical period where hot conflicts and political assassinations are taking place in our geography, where uncertainties are increasing in the world, Turkey stands out as a monument of stability and peace in its region. We are determined to protect our homeland, our nation, our state, and our national interests to the end by taking all necessary measures against the expansionist ambitions that have resurfaced in recent days. We will not give an opportunity to those who want to turn our region into a bloodbath, and we will continue to be a source of trust for our friends as well as our own citizens. May your soul rest in peace."
