Turgutlu Municipality held a joint opening ceremony for the Mimar Ferdi Zeyrek Sports Complex and the Ekrem Gürel Culture Center, which will be the city's new hubs for education, culture, and sports, as well as the City Restaurant, Public Dairy, and Public Bread projects, which will be launched in cooperation with the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality. Özel stated, "March 19 went down in history as one of the darkest days in Turkish political history."
Stating, "They staged a coup against our Mayor Ekrem," Özel said, "Those who govern this country owe their existence to the ballot box and engage in politics thanks to the Republic... We lost the election a year ago. They said 'we got on' when it suited them, and 'they got off' when it didn't. When a cult, with which they were once inseparable and to which they gave whatever it wanted, attempted a coup, we, as the party that brought the ballot box to Turkey, respected the choice of the ballot box, opened the Parliament, and stood against the coup. We did not say 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend,' but rather defended the national will."
HE PROMISED TO "BUY 300 BOEING PLANES"
In his speech, Özel stated, "There might be something we would want from Trump. 'Stop Israel's massacres in Palestine. Do not allow this, do not permit this,' he said. He noted that Erdoğan wanted to appear on a live broadcast with Trump during a meeting with Trump's son. Özel claimed, 'He said, If you arrange a live broadcast with Trump for me, I promise to buy 300 Boeing planes...'"
Speaking about the party congress, Özel said, "We have disrupted all the games played against the party. And we will continue to disrupt them. Eventually, we will defeat the judicial arms of the AKP. With brotherhood, in peace, without making anyone an 'other,' and by embracing everyone together, we will be together just as Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded the Republic together."
