President Erdoğan and US President Trump hold phone call

According to a statement made by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications on its social media account, the phone call between President Erdoğan and US President Trump, which took place at the request of the other party, addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and the US as well as the situation in Gaza.

Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call today with United States President Donald Trump at the request of the other party. The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and the United States and the situation in Gaza.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that their visit to Washington had further strengthened Turkey-US relations and that it was important to take steps to enhance cooperation in every field, especially in the defense industry. Our President noted that Turkey is making intense efforts to ensure peace and stability throughout the region, especially in Gaza, and that they welcome initiatives aimed at this goal.

President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey has accelerated its diplomatic contacts for peace, that they will continue to contribute to a global vision of peace, and that Israel ending its attacks is important for the success of initiatives aimed at establishing peace in the region.
