AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made important statements at the Iftar Program with Workers held at the Beştepe People's Convention and Culture Center.

Reacting to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who called for a boycott of certain brands and media outlets, Erdoğan said, "Trying to incite young people to take to the streets will be your downfall." In his statement, Erdoğan announced that the public sector Ramadan holiday break will be 9 days.

Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements:

-I hope these holy days will lead to the victory of all oppressed people, especially the people of Palestine.

-Labor, sweat, and honest earnings are at the center of our faith and cultural values. These concepts have been the cornerstones of our history, which is full of justice.

-We have also strived to protect this legacy, to give workers their due, and to build a fair working climate. We have made efforts to increase the welfare levels of our workers. We have implemented reforms that encompass all segments of working life. We declared May 1st an official holiday.

-We enacted the Occupational Health and Safety Law and improved the collective bargaining law. We strengthened union security and the right to strike. We reinstated the collective bargaining bonus that the main opposition party had canceled. By lifting the headscarf ban in the public sector, we guaranteed the rights and freedoms of women.

-With the regulations we made in working life, we improved the personal rights of our civil servants. We regulated raises, compensations, and social support in a way that would not let our employees be crushed by inflation. We increased civil servant salaries by 11.54 percent, including the inflation adjustment.

-We will start collective bargaining in August. Demands regarding the framework agreement protocol for public collective labor agreements have been conveyed to us. We will also complete this process regarding the collective labor agreements of our public workers.

-We exempted the minimum wage, which was increased by 35 percent compared to the previous year, from income tax. We resolved all the problems of our citizens who used to waste their lives in hospital queues. We provided permanent status to contract personnel and paved the way for temporary workers to work year-round.

"WE WILL NOT GIVE CREDIT TO AMBITIOUS POLITICIANS"

-We will not give credit to ambitious politicians who play with the merchant's business and the worker's bread with irresponsible boycott calls. We will not leave any producer who works and produces for Turkey and provides added value to the Turkish economy to their mercy. Those who openly threaten companies and firms by name, and those who complain about their country abroad, will lose.

We will build a great and powerful Turkey together, hand in hand. The person at the head of the opposition is complaining about media outlets to the West. Trying to incite these young people to take to the streets will be your downfall. He is complaining about television stations one by one. There is absolutely no such understanding in our culture. May God not let us fall into their hands.

HOLIDAY BREAK ANNOUNCEMENT

-We want our families to spend plenty of time with their children. To this end, we have included the 3-day period following the holiday within the scope of administrative leave for our public employees. In other words, our public employees will be considered on administrative leave during this period as well. Our nation will have the opportunity to take a 9-day holiday.
