President Erdoğan provides figures on terminated trade with Israel: We have given up 9.5 billion dollars annually

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attended the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Qatar, stated that trade sanctions should be imposed on Israel.

Erdoğan said, "As Turkey, we have halted all commercial transactions with Israel for 1.5 years. Thus, we have waived an annual figure of 9.5 billion dollars."

Stating that they know Israel will accelerate its policies of occupation and instability in Gaza in the short term if it does not face a strong reaction and sanctions, Erdoğan spoke as follows:

"It is essential that we reach a level of self-sufficiency in certain areas. At the forefront of these are a deterrent defense industry and development. I want you to know that we are ready to share our capabilities and experience with you, our brothers.

I believe that we need to intensify our cooperation in these areas now to win the next decades. I believe that Israel should also be pressured economically. Previous experiences show that such steps yield results. As Turkey, we have halted all commercial transactions with Israel for 1.5 years.

Thus, we have waived an annual figure of 9.5 billion dollars. I am of the opinion that support for the genocide case filed at the International Court of Justice is also very important. Likewise, we must be able to implement concrete steps and mechanisms where we ensure the security of the region ourselves through joint efforts.

At this point, I believe there are things that can be done within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

We will continue our struggle with determination until a Palestinian state with geographical integrity based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, comes into existence. In this sacred cause, we can accept neither displacement, nor genocide, nor division."
