President Erdoğan receives Patriarch Theophilos III of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Patriarch Theophilos III of the Greek Orthodox Church of Jerusalem in Istanbul.

During the meeting, Israel's aggression in Gaza and the worsening humanitarian situation were discussed. President Erdoğan stated that Israel's actions in Jerusalem aim to damage the historical status and sanctity of the city, and that this situation, which clearly threatens the tradition of coexistence among Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities, is unacceptable.

President Erdoğan noted that the genocidal Netanyahu has revealed he is not in favor of peace by most recently attacking Qatar, that Israel continues its attacks without distinguishing between mosques and churches, and that they hope to remain in close contact for the protection of Christian and Muslim heritage in the territories under Israeli occupation.

President Erdoğan was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.
