The highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

We have built our climate policies on 7 pillars: energy, industry, buildings, transportation, waste, agriculture, and forestry. We have also determined our second nationally determined contribution (NDC) to cover all sectors and all greenhouse gases.

With the policies we will implement in the economy, we aim to achieve an emission reduction of 466 million tons by 2035 and lower our emissions to 643 million tons.

While increasing the share of renewable energy and energy efficiency, we are spreading low-carbon technologies in industry. As of this year, we have increased the share of renewable energy in our total installed capacity to over 60 percent.

We are rapidly strengthening infrastructure, especially in electric vehicle production, and prioritizing railway investments. We will continue to transform our key sectors in line with our 2053 net-zero emission target. Access to international finance and cooperation in the field of technology are essential to achieve these goals.

I would like to particularly emphasize that the Zero Waste movement, under the auspices of my wife Emine Erdoğan, which has been carried to a global level with our water efficiency mobilization, plays a critical role in our fight against climate change. We hope to crown all these efforts with the 31st COP Conference of the Parties, which we aim to host in 2026. With these thoughts, I wish the climate summit to be beneficial, and I greet you all with respect once again; stay well.
