AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made significant remarks at the Mevlid-i Nebi Week Opening Program.
Here are the highlights from Erdoğan's remarks:
Distinguished members of our Presidency of Religious Affairs, esteemed scholars, dear friends from different countries who are participating in this program, my very dear young brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, I greet you all with my most heartfelt feelings, with respect and affection. Esselamu Aleykum ve Tahmetullahi ve Bereketuhu (Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you).
I am experiencing the joy of being together with you in such an exceptional atmosphere on the anniversary of the arrival on earth of our Prophet, who rose like a sun on the horizon of humanity. I would like to especially express my pleasure in seeing the religious leaders and esteemed scholars of Muslim countries who have come from abroad to participate in our program among us. Welcome to our Presidential Complex, the home of the nation, this veteran venue; you have honored us.
Salutations and peace be upon the Seal of the Prophets, who said, "How happy are those who believe in me without seeing me," and upon his family and his companions. A late poet of ours poured the birth of the Prophet into these lines; His name written in light on the domes of the Throne, his name is Ahmet in the heavens, Muhammad on earth, who found the true beauty in the seven layers of the sky, the traveler of the beginning and the end, oh Prophet Muhammad. While showers of light were descending from the seven layers, you were the one who came that night from as far as eternity, while angels were giving the good news of truth to every atom, you were the one who came that night, oh Prophet Muhammad. You who are the herald of intercession in the great judgment, the guardian of so many helpless humans on the day of resurrection, you who are the witness of the Quran, the final messenger of Allah, the herald of salvation, oh Prophet Muhammad.
"IT CLEARLY SHOWS THE VALUE HE PLACES ON THE INSTITUTION OF THE FAMILY"
As Muslims, we are filled with the joy, happiness, and excitement of reaching another anniversary of this exceptional birth that illuminates the earth like a lamp. I wish that this night, which we will observe with a sound heart and brand new hope, brings goodness to our country, our nation, Muslims, and all of humanity. I pray to Almighty Allah that the prayers we will offer and the worship we will perform throughout the night will be accepted and answered, and that the hands raised to the sky will be filled with mercy and compassion. The distinguished and blessed life of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is an example for all of humanity.
Our Prophet, for whose sake our Lord created the worlds, served as a precedent for those before him and those after him with every moment from his birth to his passing. There is no doubt that the Messenger of Allah is the exemplary personality who will guide the human adventure of self-discovery, finding, and knowing in worldly life, and who will provide the most accurate answers to the search for meaning.
Even a single moment of our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is an infinite source of healing that will be a remedy for darkened hearts and will open the eyes of the soul. I would like to emphasize this point with importance. As in every area of his life, our Prophet, the Pride of the Universe, is the most beautiful example for all of us in his family life as well, as the 'Hüsve-i Hasene' (the best example). And we have declared this year as the year of the family. The family is very, very important to us. All the solutions and all the prescriptions that will make the family a home of mercy and sacrifice, a hearth of affection and love, are present in the family life of the Messenger of Allah. "The best of you is the one who is best to his family. And I am the best of you to my family." This hadith clearly shows the value our Prophet places on the institution of the family.
"WE CAN NEVER REMAIN SPECTATORS TO THAT MASSACRE BY THE TYRANT, THE INFIDEL CALLED NETANYAHU"
Look at how Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who served our Prophet for many years, described him. He said he never saw anyone more compassionate toward his family than the Messenger of Allah. Our Prophet, who was always respectful toward his esteemed wives, also approached children with compassion and mercy, and made his warnings by saying 'my little one' without hurting them or breaking the delicate heart of the person he was addressing. In a dark period when baby girls were buried alive, our Prophet started a new era for the sake of humanity with his timeless advice and exemplary life. Especially in our day, when violence against women and children has reached alarming dimensions, we believe that we need to learn more about the family life of our Prophet and take him as an example more than ever.
I find it very appropriate that the theme of our Mevlid-i Nebi week this year has been determined as 'Our Prophet and Family Morality' in this respect. We hope that the activities to be carried out throughout the week under the title 'Muhammad, the Mercy to the Worlds, in the 1500th Year of His Birth' will further increase awareness and consciousness regarding the family.
I say may Allah be pleased with all our institutions and organizations that have taken responsibility for the best observance of the Mevlid-i Nebi week together with our Presidency of Religious Affairs. Dear brothers and sisters, esteemed guests, our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is at the same time our beloved, our sultan, our most cherished. The love for the Prophet is a lofty plane tree that has taken root in the heart of our noble nation.
The branches of this plane tree have covered the entire world from Asia to Africa. That is why we harbor deep affection for all Muslims in the world. That is why wherever there is a Muslim in the world, our heart, our mind, and our soul are there. That is why we see all Muslims as limbs of one body, and know them as the teeth of a comb or the bricks of a building. That is why we are in Palestine right now, that is why we are in Gaza right now. That is why we can never remain spectators to all this massacre by the tyrant, the infidel called Netanyahu, which is happening in Palestine right now.
