President Erdoğan's statements:
-I welcome Mr. Sudani and his delegation. With my visit to Iraq, we have gained significant momentum in our relations, and we will continue to strengthen this. We have comprehensively addressed Turkey-Iraq relations. We have signed documents that will carry our relations even further.
-I do not view our relations, which have deep historical, human, and cultural ties, merely as state-to-state relations. We have never separated the peace and stability of Iraq from our own country. In our talks, we focused on security and the fight against terrorism. We reaffirmed the necessity of fighting together against the PKK, FETÖ, and DAESH.
-Our trade volume has approached 18 billion dollars. The Development Road project will contribute greatly to the prosperity of both Iraq and the region. We are focusing on the realization of joint projects with Iraq.
-We also discussed our cooperation in areas such as banking, industry, and higher education, and evaluated additional steps we can take. We are witnessing Iraq making significant contributions to stability in the region.
-The consequences of Israel's aggressive policy are clear. We have agreed to do everything in our power regarding Israel.
-We are concerned that the tension between Pakistan and India has turned into a hot conflict with missile attacks in which many civilians were martyred. I offer my condolences to the brotherly people of Pakistan. I had an important phone call with Sharif yesterday. As Turkey, despite those who pour gasoline on the fire, we are making every effort to lower the tension.
-Turkmen continue to contribute to the development of both Iraq and our bilateral relations today.
Sudani's statements:
-Acting together in the field of security, protecting Iraq's sovereignty, and political solutions and laying down arms were on the agenda for the PKK. A cooperation agreement on water was signed during the Baghdad visit. A mechanism for implementation has been worked on. Important projects will be carried out. We explained in detail that there has been very little rainfall in Iraq and that the occupancy levels in the dams are at a minimum.
