President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with Denis Becirovic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Istanbul. Erdoğan made statements regarding the agenda at the press conference held after the meeting.
In his speech, Erdoğan devoted significant space to the ongoing war in Gaza and the killing of American-Turkish activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi by Israel.
During the joint press conference with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic, President Erdoğan stated, 'A situation similar to Srebrenica is being experienced in Gaza today. Those who murdered more than 41 thousand of our Gazan brothers and sisters, and Ayşenur, will be held accountable.'
Erdoğan further remarked, 'Just as the perpetrators of the Srebrenica genocide were convicted in international courts, the perpetrators of what is happening in Gaza will also be held accountable.'
Comparing the events in Gaza to the crimes against humanity committed by Serbs in Bosnia in the 90s, President Erdoğan said, 'We are experiencing a similar massacre to the one carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 90s in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories today.'
On the other hand, speaking about the future of trade relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, President Erdoğan stated that they expect the 'bilateral trade volume to reach 1 billion dollars by the end of this year.'
