It has been confirmed that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in the attacks carried out by Israel on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, last night. Following the event, while security for religious leader Ali Khamenei has been increased in Iran, a statement came from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The President emphasized that the terror Israel has created in Lebanon is growing and stated that it is time to say "stop" to it.
Erdoğan's statement, made via his social media account, is as follows:
"The new target of the policy of genocide, occupation, and invasion that Israel has been pursuing since October 7 is Lebanon and the Lebanese people. As a result of Israel's brutal attacks, many Lebanese, including children, have been massacred within the last week. No person with a conscience can accept, excuse, or view such a massacre as legitimate. The Israeli government becomes even more reckless as it is emboldened by the powers that provide it with weapons and ammunition support; it is challenging all of humanity, humanitarian values, and international law."
'IT IS TIME TO SAY 'STOP' TO THE ATTEMPTS TO SPREAD THE POLITICS OF INSANITY TO OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE REGION'
It is time to say "stop" to Israel's attempts to spread the politics of insanity it has implemented in Gaza and Ramallah to Lebanon and other countries in the region. We call on all structures whose duty is to ensure global peace, stability, and security, especially the United Nations Security Council, and all human rights organizations to take action immediately. We believe that the Islamic world must display a more resolute stance against these attacks. As Turkey, we will continue to stand by the Lebanese people and their government during these difficult days. I once again condemn Israel's inhumane attacks on Lebanon; I wish God's mercy upon all our Lebanese brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the attacks and a speedy recovery to the wounded."
