Pressure from within the party on CHP Mayor Göçer to 'switch to AK Party': A mentality that forces its own mayors to resign

In Malatya, CHP's Yazıhan Mayor Abdulvahap Göçer, who was referred to the disciplinary board for expulsion from his party,stated,“They pressured us to 'resign from the party and switch to the AK Party.'The Republican People's Party is telling me this.Unfortunately, a mentality that forces its own mayorsto resign from their own partyprevails today.”

Stating that there is a mentality forcing him to resign, Göçer said, "I said, throughout my life, I have never seen anything wrong inIstood up against everything. Ispoke out. They said, 'You can't be mayor again.' I replied, 'Did I become mayor with your votes?' I became mayor with the votes of the people of Yazıhan.
