The price of Ramadan pita, one of the indispensable delicacies of Ramadan tables in İzmir, has been determined for this year as well. According to the announcement made by the İzmir Bakers Chamber, a 300-gram Ramadan pita will be sold for 30 TL throughout the month of Ramadan, which will last from February 19 to March 19.
The same weight pita, which was sold for 25 TL last year, will meet consumers this year with a 20 percent price increase. The increase in the price of pita, which is one of the most preferred products on tables during Ramadan, is attributed to rising costs and inputs.
While bakers state that the intensity before Ramadan will be higher than expected, citizens are drawing attention to the price hike when purchasing pita. Bakeries in İzmir stated that they will continue to produce pita using traditional methods throughout Ramadan.
With the price list announced days before the month of Ramadan, it has been finalized that a 300-gram pita will be sold for 30 TL in İzmir. Thus, the price of the pita that will take its place on iftar tables will be 5 TL more than last year.
