Following the asset declaration by AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok, it was revealed that he owns numerous plots of land, fields, and houses. It has emerged that the price of a 1+1 apartment at Elmar Towers, where Altınok stated, "My family company has 183 units, and I have 67 1+1 apartments," is 3 million 250 thousand TL.
After persistent demands from CHP Ankara candidate Yavaş to "make his asset declaration," Altınok, who made headlines with his response, "The property is not ours, it is God's; it all belongs to God, we are just trustees," and who claimed, "My assets have decreased since I became mayor," has finally made the expected disclosure.
Altınok's asset declaration includes 22 plots of land, 23 fields, 9 houses, 1 orchard, 1 vineyard, 2 masonry houses, and 2 masonry buildings, most of which were stated to have been inherited from his parents.
Altınok had made the following statement:
"I hold a 36.59 percent stake in the family company named Altınok Gayrimenkul AŞ. The land I purchased from Maviş Koç in 1991 was contributed as capital in kind to our aforementioned family company in 2014.
My 36.59 percent share in the company comes from this. This land was later given to a contractor under a construction-in-return-for-land agreement. The apartments received from this project are located in a development on the Eskişehir road. The apartments do not belong to me personally.
They are registered as company assets. The real estate falling to my share in the company from this project is approximately as follows: In exchange for my 36.59 percent company share, 67 out of 183 1+1 apartments, 4.4 out of 12 shops, 0.36 shops in exchange for an 18 percent company share in 2 shops, and 0.27 shops in exchange for a 0.09 company share in 3 shops."
