Prison sentence for Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was detained for 17 days over a street interview

Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was tried for "insulting the president" due to statements she made in a street interview, has been sentenced to 11 months and 20 days in prison. The announcement of the verdict has been deferred.

Dilruba Kayserilioğlu, who was arrested on August 12 on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and enmity" due to her comments regarding the access ban on Instagram and released after 17 days, appeared before the 62nd Criminal Court of First Instance on charges of "insulting the president." The trial of Kayserilioğlu, who faced up to 4 years in prison, had been adjourned until today. 

Kayserilioğlu was sentenced to 11 months and 20 days in prison. 

The announcement of the verdict was deferred.
