Pro-government columnist claims 'conspiracy' against Mansur Yavaş

A speech crisis occurred on the second day of the Republican People's Party (CHP) bylaws convention.

At the convention, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who took the podium after CHP leader Özgür Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, expressed his grievances by stating that he had only been informed 1 hour prior that he would be speaking.

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, put forward a striking claim regarding the speech crisis at the bylaws convention. Selvi alleged that a conspiracy had been orchestrated against Yavaş.

The relevant part of Selvi's column is as follows:

"With this outburst from Yavaş, it emerged that there was a pre-prepared plan. Yavaş complained, 'I am not looking for malicious intent, but if two mayors are being given the floor in an institutional party, there is a problem like this. We are throwing wood on the fire of discord that has been burning for months.' Now let's get to what I have to say. At the convention, both Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş were given the floor as presidential candidates. Ekrem İmamoğlu had prepared three days in advance. He used a prompter. The only thing he didn't have was a video prepared. Mansur Yavaş, on the other hand, was notified in the last 1 hour. A plan had been prepared regarding who should be the CHP's presidential candidate. İmamoğlu would give a legendary speech, while Mansur Yavaş would remain very inadequate. Thus, the message would be given to CHP members to compare the difference between the two: if Ekrem İmamoğlu becomes the presidential candidate, we will win; Mansur Yavaş cannot handle this job. Mansur Yavaş called it a fire of discord, but the essence of the matter is that a conspiracy was set up against Mansur Yavaş. Now comes the ten-point expert question: who is the instigator?"
