Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, has added a new piece to his recent series of articles frequently focusing on the CHP.
Writing that significant developments are taking place within the CHP ahead of the charter congress to be held in September, Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi shared new inside information regarding former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
“Internal party dynamics in the CHP are always active. But when it comes to Ekrem İmamoğlu, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and Özgür Özel, it was a situation like a 'clash of titans.' A 'clash of titans' can be as dangerous as a 'romance of titans.' However, a lot of water has passed under the bridge. New balances have emerged,” said Abdulkadir Selvi, claiming that dialogue between Ekrem İmamoğlu and Özgür Özel has been restored:
“The grievances between them have been resolved. A decision was made to continue walking the path together. In this respect, we can say that the Paris Olympics benefited Özgür Özel the most. Özgür Özel is as happy as the athletes returning from the Olympics with medals. He spent 5 days in Paris due to the Olympics. During this time, he smoothed out his relations with Ekrem İmamoğlu. Therefore, there is no danger left for Özgür Özel at the Charter Congress. Ekrem İmamoğlu will not get involved in collecting signatures for an elective congress.”
