Pro-government columnist objects to minimum wage: 'To have it remain even below this...'

The minimum wage that will be in effect for 2025, which directly concerns 7 million workers and indirectly the entire society, has been set at 22,104 TL.
While millions of workers are condemned to a starvation wage, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan argued that he did not let the workers be crushed by inflation.
An objection to the disappointing minimum wage came from Ahmet Hakan, Editor-in-Chief of Hürriyet, who is known for his proximity to the government.
In his column today, Hakan commented, "In an inflationary environment... In this period when the cost of living crisis continues. At this time when employees are struggling tremendously... The minimum wage figure is not satisfying at all."
In his article, Hakan stated that even the most reasonable economists who object to populist policies had mentioned the figure of 25,000, saying, "I object to the minimum wage remaining even below this."
