The new resolution process, which began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli shaking hands with DEM Party deputies at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) and his subsequent call regarding the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, has become more concrete with the DEM Party's visit to İmralı.

Former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk, who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee, also participated in the DEM Party's visit tours in the TBMM after their meeting with terrorist leader Öcalan in İmralı.

The DEM Party delegation, which included Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, and Ahmet Türk, visited MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli following their meeting with TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş.

Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, known for his proximity to the government, drew attention to Ahmet Türk's role and statements in the new resolution process and reacted to the appointment of a trustee in his place.

The relevant section of Hakan's article titled "The meaning and importance of Ahmet Türk" is as follows:

"Ahmet Türk is likely the person who most wants the new process to conclude successfully. How do we know this? We know it from the hopeful emphasis in his statements. We know it from the friendship he has developed with Bahçeli, which appears unshakable. We know it from his heralding that a call to lay down arms is coming. We know it from the campaign launched against him by PKK hawks. Ahmet Türk will be one of the fundamental dynamics of this new process. If only those who appointed a trustee to Mardin had considered... the positive role Ahmet Türk would play before taking this step."
