The newspaper Yeni Şafak, known for its proximity to the government, has brought to the agenda scenarios suggesting that the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress could be canceled by a court ruling. The newspaper included claims that if a decision of "absolute nullity" is issued, the congress would be legally considered as never having taken place, and in that case, former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu could return to office.

According to the behind-the-scenes information reported by the newspaper, it was suggested that a potential cancellation decision could affect not only the party administration but also local governments.

Yeni Şafak newspaper claimed the following:

“According to the first scenario, if a decision of 'absolute nullity' is issued in line with the expectations of many CHP members, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will return to the head of the party. In this case, it is foreseen that the Party Assembly that served before the congress would also return to duty. According to those voicing this scenario, the temporary suspension of the party memberships of some mayors, primarily Ekrem İmamoğlu, 'until the judicial processes are completed' is also among the possibilities. However, since at least half of the 60 names who were in the Party Assembly before the 38th Ordinary Congress are supporters of Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu today, the weakness of this possibility is being emphasized.

Another remarkable claim being discussed behind the scenes is that a decision of absolute nullity could affect not only the party administration but also local governments.

Accordingly, the duties of mayors and council members who were nominated and elected by the decision of the Party Assembly after the 38th Ordinary Congress could become controversial due to 'legal defect.' In this case, the possibility of renewing elections in hundreds of CHP-held municipalities is being voiced. It is also among the claims that Kılıçdaroğlu would apply to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) for the cancellation of all local elections (mayor, provincial and district council) in the 402 local administrations won by the CHP. However, it was reported that the Kılıçdaroğlu wing is currently keeping its distance from this scenario because the legal status of the decisions taken by the municipalities to date would remain uncertain in such a scenario, and that 'the possibility of such a step dragging the party into chaos before dominance is established in local organizations is being discussed.'

Another scenario is the possibility of a new political formation. According to the claims, if a decision of 'absolute nullity' is issued, names close to Ekrem İmamoğlu and Özgür Özel could gather under the roof of a previously established party.

It is suggested that Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, would head this party, and a member of parliament would become the co-chair.”
