'Process' rift: Statements from a People's Alliance partner that will anger Erdoğan! 'They cannot say "the PKK has laid down its arms"...'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli is the architect of the new reconciliation process, which the government has named 'A Turkey Without Terror'. Following a video message from terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, a group of PKK terrorists laid down their arms in a symbolic 'ceremony'.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party would walk together in this new reconciliation process.

However, debates regarding the transparency of the process continue in the public eye. Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), a partner in the People's Alliance, has made striking statements.

Speaking at his party's Samsun Provincial Headquarters, Destici commented on the PKK terrorist organization's disarmament ceremony, stating: "They cannot say 'the PKK has laid down its arms' until the PKK branch in Syria lays down its arms; we will never accept this."

Destici added, "As the BBP, we have always respected the right of every individual and political party that does not advocate for terror and violence and does not take up arms to express their own thoughts."

NOTABLE REMARKS ON THE DEM PARTY

Continuing his criticisms of the process, Destici stated that the extensions of the PKK terrorist organization are only strengthening their presence, adding: “The BBP stands where it has always stood. Until when? The BBP's stance will remain the same until the terrorist organization truly lays down its arms and dissolves itself, and until all its extensions, starting with the DEM Party, also dissolve themselves.”

Destici's statements are as follows:

"These thoughts may differ from my own, and we respect that. However, the situation changes when it comes to individuals who adopt terror and violence as a method and take up arms. We have never considered a terrorist organization—or its extensions—that has caused our country to bleed for 40 years, martyred thousands of our soldiers, police officers, and teachers, destroyed families' homes, and stolen our nation's future, to be legitimate, and we will not do so from now on.

The BBP stands where it has always stood. Until when? The BBP's stance will remain the same until the terrorist organization truly lays down its arms and dissolves itself, and until all its extensions, starting with the DEM Party, also dissolve themselves.

Furthermore, let alone laying down their arms or dissolving themselves, the PKK's extension organizations are continuing to strengthen their presence. They have tens of thousands of armed militants, thousands of truckloads of weapons received from America, their own flags, their own anthems, and regions they administer. Have they submitted to the Syrian administration? No, they have not.

Just a few days ago, Salih Müslim, one of the leaders of the PYD, announced that they do not recognize the president of Syria and will not submit to the official Syrian government. They cannot say 'the PKK has laid down its arms' until the PKK branch in Syria lays down its arms; we will never accept this."
