Another earthquake warning from Prof. Dr. Görür! He warned about 4 districts in Istanbul

Participating in Candaş Tolga Işık's "Az Önce Konuştum" program on TV100, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür stated that if a potential Istanbul earthquake occurs, the risky districts are Avcılar, Bakırköy, Pendik, and Tuzla.

"I am shouting to pay attention to Tunceli," said Görür, adding, "I am saying that caution should be exercised for all residential areas between Adıyaman and Hakkâri. We know that the North Anatolian Fault produces an earthquake every 250 years; if you add 250 to 1784, we arrive at these times. Its period has expired. If we know the earthquake-producing potential, period, width, and length of each of these faults, we will have revealed the true danger of Izmir," he said.

"I AM SHOUTING TO PAY ATTENTION TO TUNCELI"

Highlights from Görür's statements are as follows:

"In 2010 or 2011, we prepared a project. That project was exactly this: Let's examine the East Anatolian Fault. The East Anatolian Fault is about to wake up... I said that the North Anatolian Fault broke from end to end by producing earthquakes over 7 in magnitude between 1939 and 1999. It reached the gates of Istanbul.

Now we are expecting an earthquake in Istanbul. I said on television that if this fault wakes up and behaves exactly like the North Anatolian Fault, breaking from North to South, it will destroy us.

I am shouting to pay attention to Tunceli. When I say this, it is not just for the sake of talking. We are making predictions based on scientific data. Scientific data shows the prediction. Not just me, but all earth scientists are doing this.

ATTENTION TO FOUR DISTRICTS OF ISTANBUL

Avcılar, Bakırköy, Pendik, and Tuzla are the soft underbelly of Istanbul. One must be very careful in these places.

Today, earth scientists in Turkey know that there are faults that are part of this North Anatolian Fault zone not only inside the Sea of Marmara but also on the coast and on land, and these are active. When they were activated, they produced earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.2-4.3 last year. There are faults on land from Tuzla to Kadıköy.

I am not just saying Tunceli; I am saying that caution should be exercised for all residential areas between Adıyaman and Hakkâri. While making these warnings, we are not making predictions based on very detailed research or data, but rather based on our experience, as we already know the faults that form Turkey's geological structure, especially the behavior of plate boundaries. Otherwise, we are not predicting the earthquake.

The earthquake that occurred in Erzincan in 1990, the main major earthquake was the 1939 earthquake; the North Anatolian Fault between Erzincan and Bingöl Karlıova, which we call the Yedisu fault, last produced an earthquake in 1784. We know that the North Anatolian Fault produces an earthquake every 250 years; if you add 250 to 1784, we arrive at these times. Its period has expired.
