Prof. Dr. Hasan Ünal's harsh 'Öcalan' reaction: 'Wait, which war did we lose?'

International Relations Expert Prof. Dr. Hasan Ünal, who voiced his criticisms regarding the political developments on the agenda and the discussions in the media, has made a striking statement. 

Rebelling against the extent reached by the rhetoric, particularly regarding Abdullah Öcalan, Ünal targeted the current political climate with harsh words.

"It Has Become Difficult to Read the News Without Vomiting"

Expressing the discomfort caused in the public by the recent increase in discussions and the language used, Ünal stated that the situation has reached an unbearable level.

Not hiding his reaction, Ünal used the expression, "The glorification of Öcalan has reached such a point that it has become difficult to read the news without vomiting."

A Historical Comparison: "No State That Has Not Been Occupied Has Fallen Into Such a State"

In his statement, referring to his expertise in international relations and political history, Prof. Dr. Ünal described the political atmosphere into which Turkey is being drawn as a situation that could only be experienced by countries that have lost a war and been subjected to occupation.

Emphasizing that there is no precedent in history for an independent and sovereign state to face such a picture, Ünal noted the following:

"In world political history, I have not read anything about any state that has not been defeated in a major war and had every inch of its territory occupied falling or being forced into such a state."

Underlining that the discussions in question are incompatible with the honor of a sovereign state, Ünal concluded his statement with that striking, reproachful question directed at the political establishment and the public:

"Wait, which war did we lose for all of this to be happening?"
