Prosecutor's summons for İmamoğlu in 'diploma' investigation: 28 people to testify

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was among the individuals summoned to testify by the prosecutor's office as part of a "diploma investigation." The investigation gained momentum after Istanbul University initiated an inquiry in recent months, leading to the invalidation of certain diplomas.
According to information reported by Ekol TV correspondent Dilek Yaman Demir, the list of individuals whose diplomas were canceled, prepared by Istanbul University and submitted to the prosecutor's office, includes 28 names. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a decision to summon these individuals for testimony.
İMAMOĞLU, CURRENTLY DETAINED IN SİLİVRİ, IS ALSO ON THE LIST
The most notable name in the prosecutor's process regarding the diploma crisis is Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently being held in Silivri Prison. The IMM Mayor has been officially summoned to testify by the prosecutor's office on the grounds that he is on the aforementioned list. However, İmamoğlu's testimony will be taken at the prison.
The other individuals summoned to testify are expected to appear at the courthouse in the coming days to provide their statements to the prosecutor.
UNIVERSITY SUBMITTED CANCELLATION LIST TO PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
Following a detailed examination conducted by Istanbul University in recent months, it was announced that irregularities had been detected in some graduation documents. The university administration submitted the report created at the end of the internal audit process regarding the suspicious diplomas to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
