Prostitution and gambling operation in Istanbul
In a police operation targeting massage parlors and gambling venues across Istanbul, administrative and judicial actions were taken against numerous businesses. During the operation, large sums of money and illegal materials were seized, and fines were issued to a large number of individuals.

As part of large-scale operations coordinated by the Istanbul Police Department, massage parlors and businesses where gambling takes place across the city were placed under scrutiny. With inspections carried out on January 23, venues engaged in illegal activities and the individuals present were identified, and legal proceedings were initiated against them.
In checks conducted at massage parlors under the leadership of the Public Security Branch, 20 different businesses were inspected. During the examination, it was determined that the seals of two previously sealed businesses had been broken unlawfully, and these businesses were resealed and shut down. During the efforts, it was determined that 32 people were employed without insurance, and administrative proceedings were initiated for these individuals.
It was determined that illegal prostitution was being conducted at two massage parlors located in Bakırköy. Within the scope of the investigation, judicial proceedings were initiated against two suspects on charges of mediating prostitution and providing a venue, while seven women found to be working there were referred to the relevant institutions. A total of 11 massage parlors were subjected to both judicial and administrative actions.
RECORD FINES FROM GAMBLING OPERATION
In extensive inspections carried out on the same day targeting businesses where gambling takes place, 368 venues were checked, and identity checks were performed on over 5 thousand people. Four individuals wanted for various crimes were detained during the inspections. A total of 2 million 65 thousand 512 liras in fines were issued to 178 people determined to be gambling. Furthermore, judicial proceedings were initiated against 35 individuals for facilitating gambling.
During the operation, 90 thousand 120 liras and 100 dollars in cash, 3 unlicensed pistols, 293 cartridges, narcotic substances, and numerous gambling materials were seized by security forces.
It was emphasized that these strict inspections implemented by the police across the city demonstrate that the fight against illegal activities will continue with determination.
