Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke at the 162nd Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cairo, Egypt, which he attended for the first time in 13 years.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based news site Al Arabiya reported that the Syrian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, left the meeting hall after it was announced that Hakan Fidan would deliver a speech. According to the report, the Syrian delegation returned to the hall after Fidan's speech concluded.

On the other hand, according to information obtained from diplomatic sources, a representative from the Syrian delegation followed the speech delivered by Hakan Fidan at the Arab League. Stating that they had seen some reports on this matter, the source said, "The Arab League makes decisions by consensus. Even a single member can block decisions. Ultimately, if they had a reaction to Turkey's participation, they would have expressed it during the invitation process. They did not object to Turkey's participation," they said.
