Published in the Official Gazette: New regulation for AA and TRT in the Press Card Regulation!
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for the 18 years of professional service required for a permanent press card, a maximum of 24 months of the total period during which a freelance press card was held will be taken into account.

The Regulation on Amending the Press Card Regulation has been published in the Official Gazette.
According to the decision published with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, new paragraphs have been added to Article 14 of the Press Card Regulation, which was put into effect by the Presidential Decree No. 7051 dated 2023.
Accordingly, for the 18 years of professional service required for a permanent press card, a maximum of 24 months of the total period during which a freelance press card was held will be taken into account.
With the regulation introduced, press cards will not be issued to those who do not work in the field of news at Anadolu Agency and the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT).
In addition, the titles eligible to receive a press card at Anadolu Agency have been reorganized.
According to the regulation, the titles eligible to receive a press card at Anadolu Agency are as follows:
- -Chairman and members of the board of directors.
- -General manager, deputy general manager, and editor-in-chief.
- -News directors reporting to the editor-in-chief or deputy general manager.
- -Directors reporting to the deputy general manager.
- -Coordinators, news coordinators, advisors, broadcast consultants, news managers, news planning managers, managers, assistant news managers, assistant advisors, and assistant managers.
- -Regional managers and regional news managers.
- -Chief reporters, chief photojournalists, chief cameramen, chief graphic designers, chief editors, and chief broadcasters.
- -Senior reporters, senior photojournalists, senior cameramen, senior graphic designers, senior editors, and senior broadcasters.
- -Reporters, photojournalists, cameramen, graphic designers, editors, and broadcasters.
- -Assistant reporters, assistant photojournalists, assistant cameramen, assistant graphic designers, assistant editors, and assistant broadcasters.
