The decision regarding the establishment of the foundation that Selda Bağcan wished to set up in her own name was published in today's issue of the Official Gazette. The purpose of the foundation was determined as providing scholarship support to students in need, offering financial assistance for the treatment of children with SMA who have governorate approval, and providing support to associations for the protection of stray animals.

The decision regarding the establishment of the Selda Bağcan Foundation was published in today's issue of the Official Gazette. The foundation, founded by artist Selda Bağcan and Ferhan Üçoklar, has its headquarters in Istanbul.
The objectives of the foundation were listed as, "Providing scholarship support to students in need; providing financial assistance for the treatment of children with SMA who have governorate approval; providing food support to associations for the protection of stray animals; establishing shelters and soup kitchens; and engaging in all kinds of economic activities to generate income for the foundation."
In the event of the foundation's dissolution, any remaining assets and rights after the liquidation of debts will be transferred to the Association for Supporting Contemporary Living (ÇYDD).
