The second session of the IMM Assembly for September was held at the municipal building in Saraçhane, chaired by the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Gökhan Gümüşdağ.
Taking the floor at the Assembly, AKP Council Member Muhammed Çimen submitted a question motion regarding the Paris program of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his delegation.
Asking about the daily rent of the ostentatious venue referred to as the Istanbul House in Paris, Çimen asked, "Who were the participants of the entertainment event held at night, and how much money was spent? It is known that the participants included CHP Headquarters executives, the IMM Mayor and his team, and CHP district mayors and their spouses. Therefore, did the participants pay a fee for this trip and organization?"
Also asking about the total amount of money spent on the trip and organization in question, as well as who the donors were, Çimen posed the questions, "Do the donors have any connection or relationship with the institutions affiliated with the IMM? Will you disclose the donors?"
Taking the floor following the question motion, CHP Council Member Can Çobanoğlu said, "There is constant talk of an Olympic House, an Istanbul House. Let us all embrace Turkey's values together. This is not a political issue. In world literature, the Olympics are platforms where countries are promoted, youth are encouraged, and huge contributions are made to the economy. Therefore, I do not think that these questions are being asked in good faith repeatedly."
AKP Group Spokesperson Murat Türkyılmaz stated, "What happened at the Olympic House during this organization, and what was done? What meetings were held to contribute to this process, and who did you host? We have not heard any evaluation regarding these to date. If there is such information, let them share it. We want to learn what you provided that would create added value for Istanbul with all that money spent."
Following the speeches, the question motion was accepted in the vote.
