A "defamation" lawsuit had been filed by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan against Şaban Vatan, the father of 11-year-old Rabia Naz Vatan, who died under suspicious circumstances 6 years ago. Vatan was acquitted in the first hearing of the case.

ERDOĞAN HAD FILED A LAWSUIT
Rabia Naz Vatan's father, Şaban Vatan, had announced in recent days on his social media account that President Erdoğan had filed a lawsuit against him.
Sharing an e-Government screenshot regarding the lawsuit filed against him by Erdoğan, Vatan had used the following expressions on his social media account:
"Mr. Erdoğan, what is your lawyer's goal? Is it not enough? Has the persecution you have subjected me to for years not been enough? You have been letting the killers walk the streets for 6 years. Should we now provide our own justice? My child was murdered, my child. Damn it!"
ACQUITTAL IN THE FIRST HEARING
The first hearing of the case in question was held on May 22 at 14:00. Vatan was acquitted in the first hearing.
Vatan used the following expressions in his post on social media:
"We won. I HAVE BEEN ACQUITTED in the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against me by the lawyer of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. TODAY, it is not just Şaban Vatan who won, but all the mothers and fathers like us who are fighting for justice for their children. Rabia Naz won..."
