Raids on 328 addresses in Istanbul and Muğla in forex fraud investigation! 191 people detained

As part of 4 separate investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul and Muğla against entities alleged to be committing fraud under the guise of forex investment promises.

The investigations focused on companies operating as call centers, which were determined to be managed by suspects who are Israeli citizens. It was reported that the operation targeted 44 call centers belonging to 29 different companies, as well as individuals considered to be employees and managers of these companies.

A total of 191 suspects were detained in raids conducted on 328 addresses. It was reported that 44 of these addresses were call centers, while 286 were residences belonging to 239 suspects.

ASSETS SEIZED

It was stated that the investigations are being conducted under the charges of "Fraud by Using Information Systems as a Means for Banks or Credit Institutions," "Opposition to the Capital Markets Board Law," "Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes," "Membership in an Organization Established for the Purpose of Committing Crimes," and "Laundering Assets Derived from Crime."

It was noted that MASAK reports and financial analysis reports prepared by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department were examined in the case file, and that the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) also conducted work on the matter.

Within the scope of the operation, movable and immovable assets deemed to have been obtained from crime, the companies' bank accounts, and assets in payment institutions and cryptocurrency exchanges were seized.

The suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were taken to Bayrampaşa State Hospital in the morning for health checks. It was reported that the investigation is ongoing.
