Ramazan Pişkin, known as 'Ramazan Hoca from Diyarbakır', killed in Istanbul

The incident occurred at 14:00 at a tea house located on Kocamustafapaşa Street in the Cerrahpaşa neighborhood of Fatih.

Ramazan Pişkin, who became a symbolic figure with his speeches at the Great Mosque (Ulu Camii) in Diyarbakır and was known as "Ramazan Hoca," was subjected to a knife attack today at the tea house he operated.

KILLED BY A PERSON HE ARGUED WITH

According to allegations, Ramazan Pişkin was stabbed by a person he had an argument with and was wounded in the chest. Pişkin, who was taken to the hospital by an ambulance, could not be saved despite all interventions.

POLICE FOUND IMPORTANT CLUES

Following the incident, teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Murder Bureau and the District Police Department took action and began reviewing security camera footage. Working based on eyewitness accounts, police teams obtained important information regarding the killer's identity. It was stated that investigations are ongoing and that the capture of the murder suspect is imminent.

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ISSUED A STATEMENT

The killing of Ramazan Pişkin also became a trending topic on social media. Following various allegations, the Istanbul Governor's Office issued a press release regarding the incident.

In the statement, the Governor's Office said, "On 31.01.2024, at approximately 13:50, Ramazan Pişkin was subjected to a knife attack by an unidentified person at the tea house he operated, located at 88 Kocamustafapaşa Street in the Cerrahpaşa neighborhood. Ramazan Pişkin, who sustained three stab wounds to the chest area and was taken to the hospital by 112 emergency teams, could not be saved despite the interventions and lost his life."
