The Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration, which took office following a court ruling, announced that it has referred 9 deputies known for their proximity to Özgür Özel to disciplinary action with a request for permanent expulsion.
The names stated to have been referred to the disciplinary process include Ensar Aytekin, Ali Mahir Başarır, Gökhan Günaydın, Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu, Özgür Karabat, Umut Akdoğan, Veli Ağbaba, Turan Taşkın Özer, and Burhanettin Bulut.
Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan, who is on the expulsion list, argued that deputies cannot be referred to disciplinary action by a Central Executive Board (MYK) decision.
CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan reacted to the decision with a post on his social media account.
'A PARTY ASSEMBLY DECISION IS REQUIRED'
In his post, Akdoğan stated, “They are going to kick us out of the party.
Oh, oh…
What ignorance, honestly.
We are members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
You cannot refer deputies to disciplinary action with a MYK decision.
A Party Assembly decision is required.”
In his post, Akdoğan also drew attention to the relevant articles in the party bylaws.
They are going to kick us out of the party.
