Reason for Dilan Polat's denied release revealed

New developments have occurred in the case involving 28 defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat, who are facing up to 40 years in prison on charges of money laundering. The court decided to continue the detention of the 5 imprisoned defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat.

Following this decision, the Polat couple's lawyers requested their release, stating that the latest MASAK report added to the file was in their favor. The file was sent to the Istanbul Anatolian 4th High Criminal Court for review.

The court rejected the appeal of 4 of the imprisoned defendants and decided to continue their detention. The court opened a separate parenthesis for Dilan Polat. It stated that the evaluation for Dilan Polat would be made once the missing documents were received. Furthermore, the court noted that the release request was made on the grounds that the MASAK report did not identify any act that could constitute a criminal element regarding Dilan Polat and that she has health issues.

According to the report by Sabah, the court noted that there is concrete evidence indicating the existence of strong suspicion of a crime regarding the defendant Dilan Polat and that her defense has not yet been taken, emphasizing that there is a flight risk when considering the amount of the requested sentence. It rejected the appeal and decided to continue her detention.
