Reasoned decision in the Sinan Ateş case announced: First statement from Ateş's wife

Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated in a post regarding the matter that the reasoned decision contains no information on why Doğukan Çep and Tolgahan Demirbaş, who are alleged to have incited the murder, committed this crime or how the relationship between them was established.

Sinan Ateş lost his life after being subjected to an armed attack in the Çankaya district of Ankara on December 30, 2022. The killing of Ateş became a major public issue and sparked political debates.

MANY QUESTIONS REMAIN UNANSWERED

While numerous defendants and witnesses were heard during the trial process, it was noted that many questions regarding the background of the incident remained unanswered in the reasoned decision. In particular, the motivation of the instigators, the possible reasons behind the murder, and whether the crime was linked to an organizational structure were not clarified.

The Sinan Ateş murder trial, which caused a great stir in public opinion, has brought new debates with the announcement of the reasoned decision. 

While Ateş's family and relatives expect justice to be served in all aspects of the case, the uncertainty regarding the motive for the murder increases the questions.

Following the announcement of the reasoned decision in the case, the first statement came from Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş. She commented on the decision as follows:

"A reasoned decision without a reason. Because the real culprits are out there, the instigators are out there. That pen will only write the truth in all its nakedness when they have served their sentences."
