Recall issued for chocolate found to contain plastic

Kent Gıda has notified the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it has decided to issue a recall for the 100-gram Toblerone milk chocolate product imported from Switzerland and sold in Turkey due to an isolated incident involving foreign plastic contamination.

In the company's statement, it was noted: "It has been confirmed that an isolated incident occurred leading to foreign plastic contamination in our Toblerone Milk 100g product. A precautionary recall decision has been made for our Toblerone Milk 100g product, which is produced in Switzerland by Mondelez International and imported and sold in Turkey by Kent Gıda Maddeleri Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş., with the lot details provided below."

The statement continued with the following expressions:

“As Kent Gıda Maddeleri Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş., the safety of our consumers and the quality of our products are our highest priority. Following complaints from a few consumers, we contacted the production facility in Switzerland and requested an investigation and quality review. As a result of the investigation and quality review, it was confirmed that an isolated incident occurred leading to foreign plastic contamination in our Toblerone Milk 100g product with lot number OOY4033553, the details of which are provided below. We would like to state that the source of the contamination has been identified and corrective measures have been taken immediately to prevent it from recurring.

We would like to emphasize that this recall, which is based on a single product, does not affect other Mondelez International or Toblerone products.

We hereby inform you that we are currently recalling the products with the specified lot information from all our customers and dealers, collecting them for destruction, and have contacted the relevant public institutions. In this regard, we request that consumers who have purchased the product with the information below do not consume the product and contact the Mondelez International Turkey consumer services team at 0850 210 46 66 or via the email address mondelezturkey@mdlz.com for returns and compensation.
